How to make a sports logo for your team
Three rows of buttons and one name field. Nothing to upload.
- 1
Enter the team or club name
Type the name exactly as it should appear, up to 40 characters. Add an optional tagline of up to 50 characters, such as a founding year or a motto.
- 2
Pick Style, Icon and Colors
Choose one of five styles (Badge, Mascot, Minimal, Vintage, Wordmark), one of six icons and one of seven palettes. Use the extra details box for a small request, like a star above the name.
- 3
Download the PNG
Each click makes one square logo, 1024 pixels on each side, usually in under a minute. Save it as is, or press Transparent PNG to drop the white background.
Why this sports logo maker suits a whole club
Built for teams that play more than one sport, or that just need a crest fast.
Icons that fit any sport
Eagle, Wolf, Lightning, Trophy, Ball & Swoosh and Shield & Stars are not tied to one game. A club running soccer, softball and swim can wear the same mark.
Original by instruction
Every request tells the model to draw a new design that does not copy or resemble any existing team logo. Similar results are still possible, so check the mark before printing. You start from your own name, not from a gallery.
The name, asked for letter by letter
The model is told to write the name letter for letter. In more than 60 of our test logos every name and tagline was spelled correctly, apostrophes included. Check every letter anyway.
Ready for dark jerseys
Transparent PNG removes only the white touching the edges. White inside the artwork, like an eagle's eye or a star, usually stays, but a gap in an outline can let it go. Preview the cut-out on your jersey color.
Free to try, no paid files
Three logos per visitor, no account, no card and no watermark. There is no paid file tier behind the download.

Who uses a sports logo from this tool
Multi-sport clubs
One crest across every squad, so the U10 soccer team and the masters swimmers wear the same badge. Try Shield & Stars with Navy & Gold.
Rec and adult leagues
A Sunday league team needs a logo for shirts and the group chat, not a branding project. A Mascot with Wolf or Eagle reads well from the stands.
School athletics
Intramural teams and new school clubs can draft a mark to show the athletic office before anything gets printed.
Tournaments and camps
A one-off event needs a mark for brackets, wristbands and posters. Trophy with a Badge frame, plus the year as the tagline, does the job.
Booster merch
Parents raising money for travel and fees need a design for hoodies and water bottles. Download the sports logo as a PNG for printed hoodies; for embroidered caps the shop digitizes it into a stitch file.
Run and training groups
Lightning in Minimal style makes a clean avatar for a running crew, a gym class or a cycling group page.
What makes a good sports logo, and which style to pick
Lists of the best sports logos tend to share three traits: a bold silhouette you can read from across a field, two or three colors at most, and a name set in strong letters. Our presets ask the model for those traits, so the choice is mostly about where the logo will live.
Badge puts the icon and name inside one frame, which suits jersey chests and patches. Mascot gives the icon character and thick outlines for shirts and banners. Wordmark makes the team name the hero, which works on a scoreboard or a social header. Minimal reads best at avatar size. Vintage suits a club with a founding year to show off in the tagline.
Before you print your sports logo
- Read the team name and tagline letter by letter before ordering anything.
- Shrink the sports logo to the size of a profile picture and check that the name still reads.
- Put the transparent version on your actual jersey color to check contrast.
- Pick Black & White once to see whether the mark works as a single-color print.
- Search the name and mark with the USPTO trademark search or your local trademark office before selling merch.
- Ask your printer what file they need: embroidery needs a stitch file the shop digitizes, and large banners or cut vinyl usually want a vector trace.
Common team logo mistakes
Mistake: Copying a pro team's logo and changing the name
Do this instead: Build your own sports logo from the sport-neutral icons. A copied mark can get your merch pulled.
Mistake: Choosing five colors because the club has five sponsors
Do this instead: Stick to one of the seven palettes. Fewer inks also make printing cheaper.
Mistake: A long tagline that turns to noise on a shirt
Do this instead: Keep it to a year or two or three words. The field holds 50 characters, but less reads better.
Mistake: Sending a 1024 px PNG to an embroidery shop
Do this instead: Ask the shop to digitize it, or have a designer trace it into a vector first.
