How to make a hospital logo in three steps
Nothing to upload and nothing to install. You type, click three rows of choices and download.
- 1
Enter the practice name and an optional tagline
The name field takes up to 40 characters, enough for "Riverside Family Clinic". Use the tagline (up to 50) for a specialty or a town, such as "Pediatrics, Elm Street".
- 2
Choose a style, a medical icon and a palette
Pick Badge, Mascot, Minimal, Vintage or Wordmark. Then pick Medical Cross, Heart & Pulse, Stethoscope, Caring Hands, Caduceus or Tooth, and one of seven color pairs.
- 3
Generate and save the PNG
You get one square 1024 x 1024 PNG on white. Press Transparent PNG if the hospital logo will sit on a colored sign, a website header or dark scrubs, and preview the cut-out first.
Why use this doctor logo maker
Six medical icons, one click each
Cross, heart with a pulse line, stethoscope, caring hands, caduceus and tooth cover most hospital logo needs. Anything else, like a pill capsule, goes in the free-text box.
Notes on protected medical emblems
A red cross on white is reserved by law, and the WHO emblem needs written permission. We flag the color and icon combinations to skip, but checking the finished mark is still your job.
Names asked for letter by letter
The model is asked to write the name exactly. Across more than 60 test logos, every name and tagline came out spelled correctly, apostrophes too, so a name like "Dr. Patel's Pediatrics" is worth typing as is. Still check every letter before you order signage.
A cut-out for signs, scrubs and web headers
Transparent PNG removes the white connected to the edges, in your browser. Enclosed white, such as the center of a badge, usually stays, but pale artwork touching the edges or a broken outline can be cut out too, so preview your hospital logo on its real background.
Hospital logo options side by side
A clinic owner searching for a medical logo usually ends up at one of these four.

Who makes a hospital logo or medical logo here
Solo doctors opening a practice
A family physician needs one mark for the door plate, the booking page and the prescription pad header.
Dental offices
The Tooth icon in Minimal or Wordmark style suits a dentist, an orthodontist or a pediatric dental studio.
Cardiology and wellness clinics
Heart & Pulse reads at a glance on referral letters, lab coats and a patient portal login screen.
Home care and hospice teams
Caring Hands in Forest Green or Pastel gives a gentler look for visiting nurses and family-facing brochures.
Urgent care and walk-in clinics
A bold Badge with a cross in Navy & Gold suits a roadside sign and a map listing; check that the hospital logo reads at thumbnail size and from across the lot.
Free clinics and health fairs
Volunteer-run clinics and student health events get a logo for flyers and banners without a design budget.
Which medicine logo symbol fits your practice
The medical cross says care is available here, but keep it away from red on white (see below). In Navy & Gold, Teal & Coral or Forest Green it is a common clinic look, though you should still check that the result doesn't imitate the Red Cross emblem.
For medicine itself, the Rod of Asclepius (one snake on a plain staff) is the historic symbol. Our Caduceus preset asks for the caduceus, the winged staff with two snakes and the symbol of Hermes, still common in US health branding. Want the rod? Pick any icon and type "rod of Asclepius, one snake, no wings" in the free-text box.
Heart & Pulse fits cardiology and general care, Tooth fits dentistry, and Caring Hands fits nursing and home care. Our Minimal, Heart & Pulse, Teal & Coral sample above shows a calm clinic look.
Before you generate a hospital logo
- Write the name exactly as it appears on your license or sign, including "Dr." and apostrophes.
- Use the tagline for one thing only: a specialty, a town or a short promise.
- Pick blue, teal or green palettes for a calm clinical feel, and save red for accents.
- Choose Minimal or Wordmark if the logo must work on a pen, a badge reel or a favicon.
- Look at the finished hospital logo at thumbnail size, the way patients see it in a map listing.
Hospital logo mistakes to avoid
Mistake: A red cross on a white background
Do this instead: Pick Navy & Gold, Teal & Coral or Forest Green, or switch to Heart & Pulse, then check that the result doesn't imitate the emblem. The red cross on white is protected.
Mistake: Asking for the WHO emblem or a famous hospital's mark
Do this instead: Both belong to someone else. Describe your own idea in the free-text box instead.
Mistake: Using the caduceus when you mean medicine
Do this instead: Ask for the Rod of Asclepius in the free-text box, or keep the caduceus if you prefer its familiar look.
Mistake: A detailed Badge for tiny uses like scrubs embroidery
Do this instead: Try Minimal with one icon, then ask the embroiderer to digitize it into a stitch file. Signs and cut vinyl need a vector trace.
What to know before using your hospital logo
The red cross emblem is reserved
US law (18 U.S.C. 706) generally bars using a red cross on a white ground, or an imitation of it, except by the American Red Cross, military medical services and others authorized by law. It has other exceptions too, such as some uses that began before 1905. Other countries protect it under the Geneva Conventions. If your mark comes close, get legal advice.
